A good go-to player

This player is really good -- it reminds me of VLC in a lot of ways... but its free version is nearly perfect. It has everything you need in order to enjoy your media. And the key commands (or "smart keys") are familiar and sensible. it was so good, i eventually paid for the full version! i gave it 4 stars because i feel that 5 stars is a perfect score, and not very many things are perfect. I can't remember the things about this app that aren't perfect, or to my precise liking, so… They're unimportant details, I guess. Anyway, great app. You should get it. Pay for the full version, if you're not broke.

A good go-to player

Great

Overall, best video player in the market. Fast, easily adaptable to any video codec available and most importantly its ability to stream easily to other devices is exceptional. Subtitles can be a challenge, especially if you are streaming to another device as there appears to be no real conformity to a standard excepted from one device to another. Other than that, this is the best player on the market.

Great

Overall, best video player in the market. Fast, easily adaptable to any video codec available and most importantly its ability to stream easily to other devices is exceptional. Subtitles can be a challenge, especially if you are streaming to another device as there appears to be no real conformity to a standard excepted from one device to another. Other than that, this is the best player on the market.

Superior, but...

Finally, a media player without some completely incapacitating glaring gross functional shortcoming. (Why has there never been another in the apple store?) This one i just might subscribe lifetime. One small but hobbling issue, though : there appears to be no way to add tracks/titles to the playlist, for subsequent rearrangement, without interrupting the currently-playing track and beginning immediate playback of the first track being added — Most embarrassing when trying to build a playlist realtime at 165 decibels...

Taking Screenshots Takes Forever

I love the program but however, I do have one issue: the screenshots. I love how you can get every frame, but I do find it annoying that it takes FORVER to get all the screenshots that I want. I would suggest for a future update that users select a start point and an end point of where they want to take their screenshots and it'll put it all in your folder for you. It shouldnt take a half hour to get a whole bunch of screenshots. It should take at least three minutes.

Highly recommended.

I have used Clementine and it was my top music player Mac app. Unfortunately, the app is not supported anymore. Have tried several from this list before I came along with Elmedia. Highly recommended.

Nice media player.

Nice media player. The free offerings are sufficient for most users, and advanced features can be unlocked via app purchase. Played all the videos I tried without a problem.

The best ever media player for Mac!

The best ever media player for Mac , very convenient and powerful application that handle almost every video or audio formate with a ton of features like fully customizable appearance for video brightness and contrast , audio equalizer, a-b loop , extensive support for subtitles , take screenshots from videos and create playlist and watch online videos , I replaced my QuickTime player in the dock with it and very happy with the application. It deserves more than 5 stars seriously.

this app solved me a lot of problem specially with films multilingual on my Mac. the native Mac app does not do this in the rightway.

Life saver!! thank you for Elmedia. It runs my subtitles. I am new to Mac after a lifetime of window – user. It is a difficult transition when you are used to certain apps.

The player is great

I will be honest when I had a problem my initial thoughts were; just another con. well I have to say that was not right, they have been very helpful and always kept in touch even though they were having troubles. I am happy with their attention and can say be surprised they are great even with a small problem and the player is great!

My choice for more than 4 years is Elmedia. Nice interface, intuitive controls, many cool playback features.

Excellent Video Player!

I normally don’t like to write reviews, but I did see some low marks and wanted to balance it out for people that haven’t tried it. It’s only been less than a day, so we’ll see how things work out, but so far I was having trouble with another video player playback — out of sync, laggy — but when I downloaded and tried it with Elmedia, the video ran perfectly

Works great for me but big battery consumpsion. I’ve used Elmedia for several years and i’ve been happy with it. I like it over quicktime because of the playlist and I like the clean interface and the dark backbground. recently, though, i’ve noticed that it’s a battery drain on my 2013 macbook pro running mojave…

I downloaded Elmedia Player instead Apple Music

I just downloaded the free version of Elmedia to try it out because I just hate Apple’s Music app (which sure is pretty, but just awful/frustrating to use). I wanted to see how Elmedia lets me organize and play my music library etc. but for the life of me I couldn’t figure out how to import my library from the Music app. I also have an extensive movie database but I thought I’d start with the music first. A subsequent email to the support line and Etima (the makers of Elmedia) say importing from the Music app is not possible. So I guess this is just like an alternate version of QuickTime Player or VLC – that’s fine, but I guess I don’t much see the point these days of people using something like this to listen to their music if everything needs to be located in the Finder or an Open dialog box beforehand.

Plays AVI with no problems

One of my AVI videos is not properly played in Quicktime, but I managed to play this file format in Elmedia Player with good resolution and no bugs.

Works well

Elmedia player works well. It has some nice features, such as air-play or streaming via chromecast. Use it often to watch movies on the bigger screen of my Samsung smart TV. It can also take snap shots at any point on a video file, while it’s being played.
